As part of our commitment to growing and selling the highest quality products possible, we recently built a brand new state of the art drying, cleaning and storage facility at Bushey Down.
Storage is carried out on behalf of neighbouring farmers and merchants alike, including United Oilseeds and Robin Appel Ltd. As well as being registered under the Assured Combinable Crops Scheme, we are also accredited by the Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops (TASCC).
TASCC affords a higher level of quality assurance than ACCS and is audited and certified by an independent certification body, in accordance with the internationally recognised standard EN45011. TASCC is recognised within the food industry as being essential to maintaining traceability of assured combinable crops after they have left the farm
All loads in and out of store are weighed over our public weighbridge which is independently calibrated every year to ensure accurate readings so landowners, farmers and merchants know exactly how much they have in store. This is a very attractive benefit if you are considering a contract share farming operation as we can give detailed quantities of products in store to help with budgeting, cashflow, and marketing of products.
Before reaching the final store, all crops can be dried through a Svegma continuous flow drier operating at 40t/hour and then into a Zanin rotary cleaner also operating at 40t/hour, ensuring the best possible sample for marketing. The total plant now provides over 5,500 tonnes of immaculately kept on-floor storage.
Once in store, all grain is monitored round the clock by a Barn Owl Wireless monitoring system, which constantly checks against moisture and ambient air temperature and will automatically turn fans on when required. We are able to set up an account for individual customers to monitor their own crops at any time if they choose.
