Along with environmental schemes on the arable and grassland, we have also carried out a number of schemes to benefit our farm woodlands. This includes coppicing, natural regeneration and re-planting.
Most recently we have included the woodland into our new ELS and HLS schemes to with the following options:
Restoration of Woodland – to restore farm woodlands to benefit wildlife and protect and enhance the local landscape character
Creation of Woodland – as well as protecting the existing woodland on the farm, we have planted new areas of woodland on productive agricultural land to benefit wildlife and enhance the local landscape. New planting was done with native tree and scrub species including Oak, Ash, Beech, Hawthorn, Blackthorn, and Guilder Rose.
